Networking Concepts
What is Networking?
A network or data network is a telecommunications network which allows computers to exchange data. In computer networks, networked computing devices exchange data with each other along network links. The connections between nodes are established using either cable media or wireless media. The best-known computer network is the Internet.
Networking Concepts
A computer network is defined as the interconnection of two or more computers. It is done to enable the computers to communicate and share available resources.
Networking is the construction, design, and use of a network, including the physical (cabling, hub, bridge, switch, router, and so forth), the selection and use of telecommunication protocol and computer software for using and managing the network, and the establishment of operation policies and procedures
related to the network.
A local area network is a network that connects computers and devices in a limited geographically area such as a home, school computer laboratory, office building.
Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)
Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)
is a high speed network that connect local area network in Metropolitan Area such as city or town and handles bulk of communication activity across the region.
Wide Area Network (WAN)
Wide Area Network
is a network that covers a large geographically area such country or the world
Network Architecture
Network Architecture
is the over all design of a computer network that describes how a computer network is configured and what strategies are being used.
